Why Different Post Lengths?

The flatback post length that best fits your ear will depend on your unique ear anatomy (ear thickness) and the angle of your piercing. Each Flatback Stud comes with a 6mm and 8mm post so you can choose the best fit for your own ear. (We also offer a 10mm post that can be purchased separately for those who may need a longer post; it is approximately the height of one Skittle!)

P.S. The posts on our butterfly back styles are NOT compatible with flatback posts!

P.S. Flatback Posts Are Thicker

Our flatback posts are 18 gauge (18g) and thicker than butterfly back posts (which are 20g). The smaller the number, the thicker the post!

Due to the thickness, you may need help from a professional piercer to insert a flatback stud. We offer jewelry change services to safely swap out/insert your earrings.
